Lucy Pretty Weasel Student File

Student file of Lucy Pretty Weasel, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on August 30, 1902 and departed on June 30, 1907. The file contains a returned student survey, a student information card, a former student response postcard, correspondence, and a report after leaving indicating she was a housewife in Cheyenne River, South Dakota in 1910.

In school documentation Lucy Pretty Weasel's name is also spelled Lucy Prettyweasel. Her married name is Lucy Pretty Weasel Smith or Lucy P. Smith (Mrs. Thomas G. Smith or Mrs. Thomas Gilford Smith).

Note: Lucy was the daughter of former student Hattie Long Wolf who became Hattie Pretty Weasel after her marriage.
