Charles Coon Student File

Student file of Charles Coon, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on November 3, 1909 and ultimately departed on September 10, 1914. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, applications for enrollment, an outing evaluation, a returned student survey, trade/position record cards, a progress/conduct card, an outing record, and medical/physical records. The file also contains numerous letters detailing the student's life after leaving Carlisle. In 1915 he was working at the Santa Fe School "as an assistant to the instructor of physical culture work." By 1917 he was married and living in Detroit, Michigan working in the Maxwell Automobile factory.

In school documentation Charles Coon is also known as Charles Coons, Charley Coon, and Charlie Coon.
