Alice American Horse (Wasitasunke) Student File

Student file of Alice American Horse, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on February 27, 1892 and departed on July 3, 1901. The file contains correspondence, a former student response postcard, a student information card, and a report after leaving indicating she was working as a nurse in Poplar, Montana in 1914.

In school documentation Alice American Horse's name is also spelled Alice Americanhorse. She is also known as Wasitsasunka, also spelled Wasitasunke. Her first married name is Alice Newton (Mrs. George Newton). Her second married name is Alice Pereau.
