Berry Informs Pratt of Mercer's Attempt to Become Superintendent, 1904

Laura deRussey Berry, a former Carlisle employee, writes to Richard Henry Pratt informing him that Captain William Mercer of the Eighth Infantry is trying to use his influence to have Pratt removed from his post as superintendent at Carlisle, and to have himself named as Pratt's successor. Mercer is ultimately successful in becoming superintendent at Carlisle after Pratt's resignation in June 1904.
