Edward B. Linnen was an inspector from the Bureau of Indian Affairs who visited Carlisle. His inspection was part of a larger investigation in the spring of 1914. This post includes selections from his employee paperwork collected by the BIA while he worked in the Indian Service.
The selections include a set of letters about Superintendent Friedman preferring charges against Linnen after Linnen's investigation, a photograph of Linnen, and a letter from the Commissioner of Indian Affairs asking for Linnen's discretion around the federal charges against S. J. Nori.
The remainder of the folder concerns Linnen's transitions between certain positions in the Department of the Interior, two sets of charges preferred against him, and correspondence about his bond. As none of these are directly relevant to Carlisle, they are not included, but please get in touch if you wish to see such documents.
