          Benjamin Mahseel, member of the Apache Nation, visited the school on June 30, 1898 and departed on August 2, 1898. Sources indicate that he was an employee at the San Carlos Agency, and that he and former Carlisle teacher Lydia Hunt accompanied a party of Apache students who were coming to enroll at Carlisle. Mahseel then stayed at Carlisle for several weeks before returning to San Carlos Agency.
