Hope Blue Teeth Student File

Student file of Hope Blue Teeth, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on November 14, 1883 and departed on July 8, 1889. The file contains a student information card, a former student response postcard, and a report after leaving indicating she was a housewife in Porcupine, South Dakota in 1913.

In school documentation Hope Blue Teeth's name is also spelled Hope Blueteeth. She is also known as Yellow Ear and Hope. Her married name is Hope Locke (Mrs. Frank Locke), alternatively spelled Hope Lock (Mrs. Frank Lock).

Note: Although this file does not show it, Blue Teeth was among the first group of students to arrive on October 6, 1879 from the Rosebud agency. She married student Frank Lock.
