Mamie Vilcan Student File

Student file of Mamie Vilcan, a member of the Chitimacha Nation, who entered the school on August 2, 1906 and ultimately departed on October 7, 1914. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, an outing evaluation, returned student surveys, medical/physical records, an application for enrollment, an outing record, a progress/conduct card, and correspondence. The file indicates Vilcan was a housekeeper in Charenton, Louisiana in 1911 and was living in Morgan City, Louisiana in 1917.

In school documentation Mamie Vilcan is also known as Mamie H. Vilcan. Her married name is Mamie Vilcan Burges (Mrs. William Burges).
