Luther Standing Bear (Kills Plenty) Student File

Student file of Luther Standing Bear, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on October 6, 1879 and departed on July 6, 1885. The file contains a student information card, former student response postcards, news clippings, correspondence, a returned student survey, and a report after leaving indicating he was working as a clerk in a store in Sioux City, Iowa in 1913.

In school documentation Luther Standing Bear is also known as Kills Plenty, Ota Kte, and Sun-ka-wa-kan-otah.
