Student file of Alfred Blackbird, a member of the Omaha Nation, who entered the school on October 13, 1898 and departed on June 26, 1903. The file contains a student information card, news clippings, a former student response postcard, a returned student survey, letters/correspondence related to the Indian Rights Association and Blackbird's perspective on his experience at Carlisle, photographs, and a report after leaving. The file indicates Blackbird attended Cotner University in Bethany, Nebraska as well as Bellevue College after leaving Carlisle and was a farmer in Macy, Nebraska in 1913.
In school documentation Alfred Blackbird's name is also spelled Alfred Black Bird.
