The first page opened with a poem, “The Golden Keys,” followed by a letter from Richard Davis (Cheyenne) who lived in West Grove, PA and ran a dairy farm there. There was an article called “No Wonder Indians Get Along Slowly,” and news from Joseph Schweigman (Sioux) at the Rosebud Agency titled “Willard Married.” The second page featured “The Sioux Bill: Will the Indians be Cheated if They Sign the Act?” that detailed the benefits of the Severalty Bill. The page also included a promotion for the next issue of The Red Man, an article about baseball at the Genoa Indian School and a request for submitting news items to The Indian Helper. Page three featured mostly one sentence school news items that included the whereabouts of members of the Pratt family and the death of Rodger Dudzarda (Apache). Page four began with “Advice from a School Mate,” followed by news that the Santee Indian School banned the use of tobacco, Japanese gardening information, and numerous clever bits of word plays and riddles.
