The first page opened with a poem by Sarah E. Eastman reprinted from “Golden Days,” titled “If! If!” followed by the reprinted letter from a Carlisle Indian School student on Outing called “She Wants a Higher Education.” The last piece on the page continues on the fourth page called “A Modern Pueblo” about the process by which a progressive Pueblo encourages its youth to assimilate in Mexico City. Page two began with an article, “The Political Parties,” that described differences between the Democratic, Republican and Prohibition Parties. Next came a report about the Independence Day parade and fireworks enjoyed by employees and students. There was an account about the departure of sixty students returning to their homes, the demolition of the school building, the enrollment of a group of outing students into the Friends’ First Day School of Bucks County, and a few other small news items. Page three included news of a theft from the springhouse of the farm, the baseball game, home-going students, visitors, the return of the Standing family from England, the arrival of five Crow prisoners from Montana, visitors from a Gettysburg encampment, the deaths of Florence Barnett (Ottawa) and Neal Suison (Apache) who was the father of baby Eunice, the departure of Frances Sparhawk and the visit by Mr. Richardville of the Miami Tribe. Page four featured an appreciative letter from an Indian Helper subscriber, as well as one from an Outing patron.
