The file indicates Bourassa was a teacher in various schools in the Indian Service including the Carlisle Indian School, the Fort Hall Indian School, and Phoenix Indian School; an assistant matron at the Carlisle Indian School, corresponding secretary of the American Indian Association, clerk of the outing system at the Carlisle Indian School in 1913 and 1914, and an office assistant for the Society of American Indians in Washington D.C. in 1914.
In school documentation Rosa Bourassa's name is also spelled Rosa Bonrassa. Her married name is Rose Bourassa LaFlesche (Mrs. Frank LaFlesche). Her married name is also spelled Rosa B. LaFlesche, Rosa B. La Flesche, Rosa La Flesche, and Rose LaFlesche.
