National Archives, from collections of Carlisle Indian School materials housed at various archival repositories, and from a variety of published sources. The What-So-Evers were a "circle" or a subgroup of the female student group the King's Daughters.
The Cumberland County Historical Society has two copies of this image: PA-CH3-085 and 10-B-22. Caption on the back of the latter copy says that the photograph was taken for the leader of the group, Miss Shaffner.
