Fourteen Cheyenne students [version 2], 1882

Studio portrait of six male students and eight female students, all wearing school uniforms. The caption says that they are all from the Cheyenne nation and arrived in August 1882.

Based on other identified photos of Cheyenne students who arrived at that time, we believe the individuals pictured may be as follows: back row, left to right - Calvin Red Wolf, Kias Red Wolf, Little Bear, Jonas Matches, Abe Sommers; second row, left to right - Maud Chief Killer, Fanny Morning, Florence Redeye, Laura Standing Elk, Minnie Little Elk, Leila Jones; front row, left to right - Katie Zallawager, Dora Morning, Russell Black.

The Cumberland County Historical Society has two copies of this image: PA-CH1-067a and BS-CH-039.
