Richard Henry Pratt responds to a letter from the Office of Indian Affairs regarding a letter from C. R. A. Scobey, U.S. Indian Agent for the Fort Peck Agency. Pratt writes that he was mistaken in his letter to Smoker of the identity of the student who has rarely been in school since her arrival. Pratt details the treatment he has undertaken to treat the student's eyes and that while she has improved it is unlikely that her eyes will allow her to ever study.
