Richard Henry Pratt forwards a letter by Nicholas Huff regarding his daughter Lily Huff being enrolled at the Carlisle Indian School. Pratt writes that he would not stand in the way of Lily being returned to her husband, Josiah Baird, but that she should stay at Carlisle for a number of years before taking the full burden of wifehood. In addition, he is getting a party of students from Oneida that Baird could join if he obtains a reference to his character.
