Enrollment Targets from Various Indian Agencies for Fall 1882

Date
July 12, 1882

Richard Henry Pratt details the number of students he is able to accept from various Indian Agencies including the Rosebud, Pine Ridge, Kiowa and Comanche, Pawnee and Ponca, and the Cheyenne and Arapaho. Pratt provides instructions as to the preferred age and gender composition of the students and notes that he has already arranged for individuals to go and bring the students back to Carlisle.

In a separate note he indicates that children should be surrendered by their parents with the knowledge that they will be at Carlisle for a five year term not three years as was previously the case.
