Samuel Gruett Student File

Student file of Samuel Gruett, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on August 8, 1889, graduated in 1897, and ultimately departed on July 2, 1897. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, a trade/position record card, a former student response postcard, a report after leaving, returned student surveys, a news clipping, and correspondence. The file indicates Gruett was a disciplinarian at the Mt. Pleasant School in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan from 1907 to 1911 and a farmer in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan in 1913.

In school documentation Samuel Gruett is also known as Sam Gruett.
