Rebecca Big Star Student File

Student file of Rebecca Big Star, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on November 14, 1883 and departed on July 29, 1890. The file contains a student information card and a report after leaving indicating she was a housewife in Wood, South Dakota in 1910.

In school documentation Rebecca Big Star is also known as Wooden Ear Rings and Cha-o-we. Her married name is Rebecca Yellow Hawk.

Note: Other records show Big Star had previously attended the school, arriving first on October 6, 1879.
