Bessie Metoxen Student File

Student file of Bessie Metoxen, a member of the Oneida Nation, who entered the school on September 13, 1905, and departed on June 20, 1910. The file contains a student information card, medical/physical records, a returned student survey in which she writes about having worked as a waiter, a trade record card, an outing record, a report after leaving, a progress/conduct card, and former student response postcards indicating that she married Philip Somers on October 29, 1914 and was living in West De Pere, Wisconsin, in 1915.

The file also contains correspondence between the school and Lucy Swamp, Bessie's cousin, regarding Bessie.

In school documentation Bessie Metoxen's name is also spelled Bessie Metoxin and Bessie Metixon. She is also known as Bessie D. Metoxen. Her married name is Bessie Metoxen Somers (Mrs. Philip Somers).
