Student file of Lacy Oxendine, a member of the Lumbee Nation, who entered the school on October 1, 1914 and departed on May 29, 1915. The file contains a student information card and correspondence that indicate Oxendine attended Dickinson College Preparatory School (Conway Hall) after leaving Carlisle and was working at the Lukens Iron and Steel Co. in Coatesville, Pennsylvania in 1916.
In school documentation Lacy Oxendine's name is also spelled Lacey Oxendine. He is also known as Lacy R. Oxendine.
Note: Members of the Lumbee Nation as recognized today were generally referred to as Cherokee Indians of Robeson County during the early 20th century, which is why the old documentation from the school identifies this student at Cherokee.
