The file indicates Smith was working as a store clerk in 1912 in Elbowoods, North Dakota, was living in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1914, and was living in Elbowoods, North Dakota in 1915.

Note: Although this file shows Gros Ventre, a member of the Fort Berthold community has indicated that this individual is actually Hidatsa.
