Charles Broken Leg Student File

Student file of Charles Broken Leg, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on September 16, 1911 and departed on June 7, 1916. The file contains student information cards, applications for enrollment, financial transactions, a federal financial aid form, outing evaluations, outing records, medical/physical records, a report after leaving, and correspondence. The file indicates that Broken Leg worked in a saw-mill at Rapid City, South Dakota in 1916 and was living in Kyle, South Dakota in 1916 and 1917.

In school documentation Charles Broken Leg's name is also spelled Charles Brokenleg and Charles Broken-leg.

Note: Although this file shows an arrival date of September 17, the admissions ledger and his information card suggest that he actually arrived on September 16.
