Page one described George W. Walker’s visit to the country, the people he met and how he would like to go to school with them. There was also thank note from Dessie Prescott to her teacher for a Christmas gift she received. Page opened with a letter from Edgar G. Squirrel talked of the shame the students feel when they speak Indian. Other bits on the page also shows the shame and fear surrounding language, such as Julia Prior (Osage) who explained how at home they were afraid to speak English. Page three had several lines from various students including passages about the farms, dorms, and snow. The final page had an article about how the boys and girls seem more interested in learning Sioux rather than English. The writer, Stephen K. White (Sioux) thinks that they should focus on English.
