Student information card of Joel Tyndall, a member of the Omaha Nation, who entered the school on August 19, 1882 and departed on July 10, 1891. The file indicates that Tyndall graduated in 1889 and was trained as a harnessmaker. Tyndall was married to fellow student Lizzie Hill and living in Walthill, Nebraska in 1913.

This is a page from The Red Man, March 1897. The Cumberland County Historical Society has two copies of this image: 14A-02-01 and 15-28-01. 

These materials include a descriptive statement of students regarding 15 individuals sent to the Carlisle Indian School from the Pine Ridge Agency of the Dakota Territory.

H. D. Gallagher, U.S. Indian Agent for the Pine Ridge Agency, replies to an Office of Indian Affairs letter regarding Lizzie Hill. Gallagher states that Hill was sent to the Carlisle Indian School and that the school is the perfect place for her at the moment.

The commencement program for the Eighteenth Anniversary and Ninth Graduating Exercises of the Indian Industrial School at Carlisle, Pennsylvania.  The program includes a schedule of events as well as a photograph of the graduating class of 1897.

Richard Henry Pratt forwards a list of the Graduating Class of 1897 of the Carlisle Indian School to W. N. Hailmann along with his assessment of their character and efficiency.

Richard H. Pratt recommends that former student Lizzie Hill be appointed as an assistant matron in the Indian Service.  Pratt and Assistant Superintendent A. J. Standing forwards Hill's application along with references from chief matron L. R. Shaffner, Hill's outing host, Elizabeth D. Edge, and Pratt himself.
