Student file of Francis Eastman, a member of the Sioux Nation who entered the school on October 30, 1911, graduated in 1913, and ultimately departed on August 12, 1916. The student did not attend school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains an application for enrollment, medical/physical records, financial transactions, progress cards from Dickinson College Preparatory School (Conway Hall), student information cards, a report after leaving, a returned student survey, and letters regarding Eastman's post-departure plans, health, and status of citizenship. The correspondence also indicates that Eastman wanted to farm in South Dakota and that he became a US citizen along with fifty other Native Americans in early September 1916.
In school documentation Francis Eastman's name is also spelled Frances Eastman.
