Page three features one-sentence blurbs about school staff, students on outing, building improvements, visitors, the Sioux Commission, the upcoming election, Baby Eunice, and a reading at the Opera House in Carlisle by General Custer’s sister, Mrs. Calhoun. The fourth page opens with “Extract from a School Composition: Newspapers,” followed by “Smoking Will Kill Them,” noting how many of the Sioux Chiefs who visited Washington smoked.
