Empire Coal Mining Company President William H. Weble asks Supervisor in Charge of the Carlisle Indian School Oscar H. Lipps why the Cumberland Valley Railroad charged him $0.04 per net ton switching charges. Lipps forwards Weble's letter to the Commissioner of Indian Affairs.
Assistant Commissioner E. B. Meritt informs Lipps that if he had the car moved from the Gettysburg Junction to the school siding, the government will have to pay the charges. He advises Lipps to have shipments dropped at the Junction and have teams haul it to the school in the future.
