Jane Eyre Service Record Card

This index card tracks Jane Eyre's record of employment with the Office of Indian Affairs after she attended Carlisle and the Lincoln Institute. She worked in the Indian Service from 1896 to 1900 in various teaching and matron positions.

Note: upon request for Eyre's Official Personnel Folder at the National Archives in St. Louis, this service card was the only record located.
