William A. Mercer informs the Office of Indian Affairs of the correct date for the end of the probationary period of Assistant Matron, Elizabeth C. Sloan

Effie Moul follows up on her request for her transfer to a different role in the Indian School Service by requesting a promotion to teacher. William A. Mercer responds to the request of the Office of Indian Affairs for comment on the request.

Elizabeth C. Sloan submits her resignation as the assistant matron of the Carlisle Indian School. William A. Mercer forwards the resignation along with further comments on her aptitude for a different position in the Indian Service.

William A. Mercer refers to vacancies in the blacksmith, mason, and assistant matron positions and the salaries and job qualifications needed to fill the positions.

William A. Mercer requests actions to fill the position of assistant matron be suspended in order that Miss Macy of Oneida, Wisconsin is interested in the position.

William A. Mercer informs the Office of Indian Affairs that Miss Macy has declined the transfer to the Carlisle Indian School. Mercer states that he has no further recommendations to fill the vacancy and requests the appointment be made from the Civil Service list.

William A. Mercer follows up on his recommendation to grant Effie G. Moul's request to transfer her and to send another assistant matron to the Carlisle Indian School in her place.

William A. Mercer requests that the position of assistant matron be filled as quickly as possible due to the resignation of Rose Dillon (here Rosa Dillon).

William A. Mercer informs the Office of Indian Affairs that Eunice A. Patterson has not reported for the position of assistant matron.

William A. Mercer renews his request for another assistant matron position to help in the dining room as all three assistant matrons are needed in the girls quarters.

William A. Mercer requests the Office of Indian Affairs appoint suitable person from the list of eligibles for the vacant assistant matron position at the Carlisle Indian School.

William A. Mercer informs the Office of Indian Affairs that Anna C. Grove was appointed assistant matron and that Cathrine Morette resigned as hospital cook shortly after her appointment.

William A. Mercer responds to an Office of Indian Affairs letter regarding the request of Elizabeth Sloan to be reinstated to the Indian Service. Mercer notes that he has forwarded the Office the resignation of Mary D. Maddren as assistant matron and written Sloan regarding filling the position but has not heard back.

William A. Mercer informs the Office of Indian Affairs that the probationary period of Flora M. Newman as assistant matron is coming to an end. Mercer notes that he cannot recommend her continuance as an employee and requests her services be discontinued at the end of her probationary period.

Flora M. Newman requests a transfer to the position of seamstress in the Indian Service. William A. Mercer forwards the letter along with his recommendation that the request be granted due to her performance as an assistant matron.

William A. Mercer requests that the vacant assistant matron position be filled through the civil service register of eligibles as quickly as possible.

Correspondence regarding complaints of Ella G. Hill, Laundry Manager, against William A. Mercer and Mrs. Saxon, the head matron of the small boys quarters in addition to her transfer at a reduced salary to a Western School.

Sadie F. Robertson requests transfer from the Girl's Matron position at Carlisle to a school in the southwest preferably Albuquerque or Phoenix as either a principal teacher or teacher. William A. Mercer forwards the request along with additional information about the various transfers that have been made.

Sadie F. Robertson resigns her position as the girls matron at the Carlisle Indian School with a request to be reinstated as a teacher at another school in the next six months. William A. Mercer forwards the resignation to the Office of Indian Affairs.

William A. Mercer informs the Office of Indian Affairs that he is not in favor of the proposed transfer of Emma C. Lovewell due to the statement of Superintendent Dewitt S. Harris of the Cherokee Training School.

Margaret O. Eckert resigns her position as assistant matron at the Carlisle Indian School. Eckert's resignation was forwarded to the Office of Indian Affairs by William A. Mercer where it was accepted by C. F. Larrabee.

William A. Mercer requests Jennie L. Gaither report on July 15, 1907 rather than July 24, 1907 from the Office of Indian Affairs. C. F. Larrabee responds that there is no objection for Gaither to report if her whereabouts are known.
