Lazarus Willis Student File

Student file of Lazarus Willis, a member of the Ottawa nation, who entered the school on August 15, 1889 and ultimately departed June 21, 1894. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, correspondence, a returned student survey, a former student response postcard, a report after leaving, as well as a broadside advertisement for the Shah-Sho-Ke-Ghik Indian Camp Meeting at Green Sky Hill, a religious gathering. The file indicates that Willis was farming in Charlevoix, Michigan in 1910, living in Charlevoix, Michigan in 1913 and working as a farmer in Charlevoix, Michigan in 1914.

In school documentation Lazarus Willis' name is also spelled Lazauis Willis and Lazauas Willis.
