Nina Carlisle Student File

Student file of Nina Carlisle, a member of the Cheyenne Nation, who entered the school on September 15, 1889, and ultimately departed on June 21, 1909. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, a newspaper clipping, correspondence, and a report after leaving indicating Carlisle had been working as a domestic in Beverly, New Jersey in 1910 before becoming a housewife and moving to Wichita, Kansas in 1911.

In school documentation Nina Carlisle's name is also spelled Nina Carlyle. Her married name is Nina Carlisle Gabaldon (also spelled Nina Carlyle Gabaldon and Nina C. Gabaldon).

Note: Nina Carlisle was almost certainly the daughter of student Thomas Carlisle, who was enrolled at the time of Nina formally entered the school.
