Eligibility of George W. Tibbetts for Minnesota Soldiers' Bonus Act

Date
June 1, 1921 - April 11, 1922

These materials include correspondence and a pamphlet regarding George W. Tibbetts' eligibility for coverage under Minnesota's Soldiers' Bonus Act. Minnesota's Attorney General ruled that, because Tibbetts had initially claimed exemption from drafted military service on the grounds that he was not a citizen of the United States, he was not entitled to a bonus for his voluntary military service because he was classified as an Alien Objector.

Tibbetts' claim was initially denied based on citizenship and alien status.
