Carlisle Indian School Images at the National Museum of the American Indian

The digital collections of the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian include five images from the collection of General Nelson A. Miles which relate to the Carlisle Indian School. These images are of various Chiricahua Apache prisoners of war sent to the Carlisle Indian School after the capture of Geronimo in 1886. The images were all taken by photographer John N. Choate, circa 1887.
