William Martell (Ba-ka-ak-kwa) Student File

Student file of William Martell, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on September 1, 1905 and departed on September 11, 1909. The file contains a student information card, a medical/physical record, an application for enrollment, a report after leaving, a progress/conduct card, an outing record, a news clipping, and a former student response postcard that indicates William was living in Winter, Wisconsin in 1914. The news clipping shows that at some point he was working on the Duluth, South Shore Line.

In school documentation William Martell's name is also spelled William Martelle. He is also known as William J. Martell and Ba-ka-ak-kwa.
