Philip Clairmont Student File

Student file of Philip Clairmont, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on September 13, 1908 and ultimately departed on August 1, 1918. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, applications for enrollment, medical/physical records, a progress/conduct card, a trade/position record card, an outing record, outing evaluations, financial transactions, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates Clairmont worked with the Ford Motor Company in 1917 on the outing program, was living in Mission, South Dakota in 1918, and was stationed with the Co. 43, 11th Battalion, 163 Depot Brigade at Camp Dodge, Iowa in 1918.

Note: In this file the student is identified as Philip Clairmont, Philip Claymore, Judson Clairmont, and Judson Claymore.

Note: At the time of scanning at the U.S. National Archives, a document related in this student file seemed to relate to different students, Mary Madbear and Scholastica Madbear. That document has now been included with the Mary Madbear file: NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_box 96, folder 4234 and the Scholastica Madbear file: NARA_RG 75_Series 1327_box 96, folder 4235.
