Mary Redthunder (Taninyahiyayewin Saketopa) Student File

Student file of Mary Redthunder, a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school July 31, 1903, graduated in 1910, and ultimately departed on July 13, 1910. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, an application for enrollment, a photograph, a former student response postcard, a medical/physical card, a trade/position record card, a progress/conduct card, correspondence, and a financial transaction. The file indicates that Redthunder was as an assistant matron at the Mount Pleasant Indian School in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan in 1910 and then began working as an assistant matron in at the Jicarilla School in Dulce, New Mexico in 1913.

In school documentation Mary Redthunder's name is also spelled Mary Red Thunder. She is also known as Mary M. Redthunder and Taninyahiyayewin Saketopa.
