Lida Shongo Student File

Student file of Lida Shongo, a member of the Seneca Nation, who entered the school on February 14, 1909 and departed on September 3, 1914. The file contains applications for enrollment, a student information card, a medical/physical record, outing evaluations, outing records of student, a report after leaving, a progress/conduct card, financial transactions, and letters/correspondence. The records indicate that after leaving the school Lida was living in Irving, New York before quickly finding employment in Perrysburg, New York at the J. N. Adams Hospital in 1914. In 1915 she was living in Gowanda, New York and married to William Scott. The latest record shows Lida living in Little Valley, New York in 1917.

In school documentation Lida Shongo's name is also spelled Lydia Shongo and Lida Shango. She is also known as Lida F. Shongo and Lida Florine Shongo. Her married name is Lida Shongo Scott (Mrs. William Scott).
