Joseph Helms Student File

Student file of Joseph Helms, a member of the Shawnee Nation, who entered the school on December 18, 1912 and ultimately departed on July 1, 1916. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains student information cards, medical/physical records, an application for enrollment, a financial transaction, and letters/correspondence. The file indicates that Helms attended the free school offered by the Lanston Monotype Machine Co. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to learn how to operate their printing machine in 1916 and took a position in Jefferson City, Missouri in 1916.
