Jesse Bent (No Equivalent) Student File

Student file of Jesse Bent, a member of the Arapaho Nation, who entered the school February 3, 1881 and departed on June 17, 1884. The file contains a student information card, a returned student survey, a letter/correspondence, and reports after leaving. The file indicates Bent was a farmer in Geary, Oklahoma in 1910.

In school documentation Jesse Bent's name is also spelled Jessa Bent. He is also known as No Equivalent. It is not clear from this card whether No Equivalent was intended as an approximate English translation of Jesse Bent’s Native name or if the writer intended to say that there was no English equivalent for his name.
