James Bearchild Student File

Student file of James Bearchild, a member of the Piegan Nation, who entered the school on December 21, 1907 and ultimately departed on January 10, 1913. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains a medical/physical record, student information cards, a progress/conduct card, an application for enrollment, financial transactions, a trade/position record card, an outing record, and correspondence. The file indicates Bearchild was a laborer in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 1911 and living in Browning, Montana in 1912 and 1915.

In school documentation James Bearchild's name is also spelled James Bearchilde and James Bear Child. He is also known as Jim Bearchild, also spelled Jim Bear Child.

Note: Students Benjamin Bearchild and James Bearchild were probably brothers.
