Francis Coleman Student File

Student file of Francis Coleman, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on October 14, 1908, graduated in 1911, and departed August 2, 1911. The file contains an application for enrollment, medical/physical records, outing records, a returned student survey, a report after leaving, a student information card, a progress/conduct card, a trade/position record card, financial transactions, and correspondence. The file indicates Coleman stayed in Carlisle after graduation and worked as a telegraph operator until 1912. In 1916 he was working for the Soo Line Railroad Company in Byron, Wisconsin.

In school documentation Francis Coleman is also known as Francis E. Coleman (also spelled Frances E. Coleman).

Note: Coleman married fellow student Ruth Elm.
