Eva Caswell Student File

Student file of Eva Caswell, a member of the Chippewa Nation, who entered the school on December 6, 1913 and ultimately departed on July 19, 1918. The file contains student information cards, applications for enrollment, medical/physical records, certificates of promotion, correspondence, an outing record, financial transactions, and a federal financial aid form. Much of the file discusses various medical issues Caswell dealt with during her time at the school, including a tubercular condition, acute laryngitis, and swollen glands. The file indicates Caswell was intending to enroll at an Indian school in Riverside, California after the Carlisle Indian School closed in 1918.

In school documentation Eva Caswell's name is also spelled Eva Castwell. She is also known as Eve Caswell, Evangeline Caswell, Evangeline Susan Caswell, and Eve Susan Caswell.

Note: Students Benjamin F. Caswell, Eva Caswell and Louia/Charlotte Caswell were siblings and their father was former student Louis R. Caswell.
