Chauncey Yellow Robe (Killed in the Timber) Student File

Student file of Chauncey Yellow Robe (Killed in the Timber), a member of the Sioux Nation, who entered the school on November 14, 1883 and ultimately departed on April 1, 1895. The student did not attend the school continuously, but left and reentered. The file contains letters/correspondence, returned student surveys, former student response postcards, news clippings, a report after leaving, and photographs. The file indicates Yellow Robe was an industrial teacher in Rapid City, South Dakota in 1907 and 1911 and a disciplinarian in Rapid City, South Dakota in 1913 and 1915.

In school documentation Chauncey Yellow Robe's name is also spelled Chauncy Yellow Robe and Chauncey Y. Robe. He is also known as Killed in the Timber and Timber Yellow Robe (also spelled Timber Y. Robe).
