On page one the paper’s editor, Charles Kihega (Iowa) wrote a letter about his successful journey home. Metopah (Osage), Taylor Ealy (Pueblo), and Frank Everett (Wichita) also wrote letters from home back to the school. On page two eight boys and twelve girls took a trip to explore Luray Cave. Also on the same page Van Horn (Cheyenne) and Thos. Wister (Ottawa) worked in the field, and their boss contacted Captain Pratt to express how good their work was.

On page three the school reported that it, its children, farms and shops were in good health and standing. Iron Eagle Feather also made his marriage announcement, marrying Julia Good Voice on July 19th. A notice was also published reminding readers to say “no” to temptation. On page four there was several excerpts from letters sent from students working at various farms. They talked about the crops they grew, learning to bake, and one mentioned a boy who as faking sores on his feet to get out of work.
