Proposal to Transfer Charles Somains to Carlisle
January 12, 1882

Green Bay Agency Indian Agent E. Stephens proposes transferring Charles Somains from the Hampton Institute to the Carlisle Indian School rather than having him return home. Somains indicates that this is likely the best path for helping Somains and his mother.

Request for Moses Nonway to be Sent Home

The father of Moses Nonway requests that his son be returned to his home in order to help him on his farm due to his poor health. Richard Henry Pratt believes that the request should be approved and sent home along with Charles Somains with U.S. Indian Agent E. Stephens.
