Return of Pueblo Children to Their Home in 1883

Date
June 2, 1883

Richard Henry Pratt notes that while he does not think it in the best of interest of the students he will comply with the wishes of the parents of the Pueblo students and return them to their homes. He believes it should be done as soon as possible in case they want to return for the Fall in order to allow them more time to visit.

Pratt also comments on a letter from the Indian agent for the Colorado River Agency that it does not make sense to send students from that agency due to the transportation expense. Pratt writes that there are already a great number of students from closer agencies and that there should be more students from one agency rather than more nations represented.
