Eleventh Annual Report of the Carlisle Indian School

Date
November 3, 1890

The Eleventh Annual Report of the Carlisle Indian School. Richard Henry Pratt provides a history of the school from his days as the Captain of the 10th Cavalry. Pratt then details the educational mission of the school as providing a basic knowledge of the English language along with teaching some means of self-sufficiency. Pratt further calls for not building a separate school system on the reservations but rather have students sent out into the American public school system as well as establishing standard enrollment periods throughout the Indian school system.

Also included are the statistics covering the Carlisle Indian School documenting the nations with students at the school and the total number of students.
