Monteith, U.S. Indian Agent for the Nez Perce Agency, requests authority to purchase a new wagon due to the unsafe and unfit wagon the Agency recently received from the Carlisle Indian School. Monteith provides details of how the wagon is unfit and criticizes the foreman in charge at Carlisle.
